Review of 'The Married Guy's Guide to Great Sex' by Clifford L. Penner

I have also reviewed the women's version of this book in the previous post 'Enjoy The Gift of Sexual Pleasure for Women'.  Clifford and Joyce Penner have worked for decades in counseling, particularly in the area of sexuality.

Clifford leads this book and starts off by relating to guys and how sexuality is general seen in society as they grow up, i.e. that the guy is meant to be the expert/leader etc.  He starts by saying 'sex works better when the man lets the woman set the pace' referring to how Solomon let his bride lead etc.

He speaks of letting sex be a process and not just a race to the finish line.  How men need connection and get it through sex whereas women go for intimacy to get connection to need sex.  Interesting thoughts. He recommends then that the man goes the women's way to get her to the same place for mutual connection.  How remembering her needs is vital and how often men don't which causes a problem too.

This book seems to delve into a lot more depth than the women's book did.  It touches on some similar things like planning etc however it is written by a man for men.

I will update this further once my husband has read this book also and will add his thoughts.  I think the information here in valuable.  I have added photos below from pages throughout the book to give you a further idea about it.

Please note that I was sent a copy of this book for purposes of review, however all opinions expressed are my own.
