I really appreciated Holly's candor in this book. She was very real, encouraging and inspiring. As a book aimed at women in particular, Holly uses scripture and stories from her own life, and others ,to present a compelling case in motivating women to stand strong, and be brave no matter what.
It is a smaller size hardback book with a dust jacket (the dust jacket has the design on it, underneath is just a plain blue cover with the title on the spine only). It opens to a double sided page of praise for the book by others then the usual title and contents pages as standard. Following the 12 chapters it has a section of scriptures to speak over your situation, questions for personal reflection and group discussion, acknowledgements and notes.
Themes and topics she touches on are: hopelessness and finding hope, Insecurities/Insignificance/Insufficiency, rising within the darkness, strengthening yourself with friendship, strengthening yourself physically/emotionally/mentally/spiritually, honoring God, being anchored in a good church, finding contentment, don't quit, trusting and focussing on God. There are many more but these are some of the bigger ones.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend it. We all need to be reminded to stand strong when so much around us is crumbling.
Please note that I was sent a copy of this book for purposes of review, however this review is entirely my own.
