Review of my trip to Family Christian Stores in Asheville, NC

This is primarily a book review blog however on occasion as other review opportunities come my way I will take them.  I was graciously given a $25 gift certificate to use in a Family Christian Store in exchange for an honest review of my experience.  The opportunity also allows me to pass on to you the opportunity to win a $25 gift certificate for yourself to use in a Family Christian Store or on their online site.  More about that at the end.

I have a store nearby in Asheville, so my family and I made the trip yesterday to browse and make my purchase.  On entering the store I was immediately cheerfully greeted by a store associate.  My first impression of the store was that it was very clean and well laid out.  I was very impressed with the variety of stock they had available in store - it was fun to look through.  My toddler son was excited to discover at the back in the kids section they had a dvd playing of one of the DVD's they sell there.  They had a good range of children's toys - a whole section of Veggie Tales including themed Veggie tales toys as well.

My husband and I enjoyed browsing the home ware section and spent some time looking at the various formats of paintings, pictures and other formats with scriptures for hanging on the wall.

I needed some assistance at one point in locating a DVD for my son and also another item and I was helped by both of the staff on the floor.  They were very helpful and friendly.

I purchased an Auto B Good DVD for my son, they only had one in stock so I bought that one.  I also got two of the Monster Truck Adventure DVD's also for my son. I haven't heard of them before but am excited for my son to see them - he is obsessed with cars, trucks etc.

The checkout process was very straight forward.  I was able to use a discount coupon along with my $25 gift certificate and my end payment was just 40 cents!  Amazing!  I was actually 5 cents short and went to get my husband to get it from the car - suddenly noticing the downpour of rain outside. The sales associate helping us called out not to worry, he found five cents to cover that.  Wow... blown away by the service and whole experience.

Prior to my visit I had also visited their website and found it very easy to navigate, however the items I wanted were only available in store. Fortunately I have a store nearby.

I would definitely recommend this company.  The whole experience was so positive. And just so you know they have a summer long offer on all books, music and DVDs: Buy One, Get One 50% off.

  1. I have been to the store in Asheville but it has been a while. I would like to get a daily devotional for my oldest son and something for my youngest to enjoy as well, probably something from the Veggie Tales section. Sounds like they have a wonderful staff which adds to the shopping experience!

  6. If I won the $25 gift certificate, then I would buy my almost 6 year old daughter a Bible. She has been asking for a big girl Bible for about a month now but every penny we make income wise goes strictly to bills. So I would love to surprise her with a Bible :)
