Review of 'When Jesus Was A Green-Eyed Brunette' by Max Davis

Wow... what a book!  The title was an interesting draw card - just because it's different.  It immediately makes you want to find out what it is about. You find out pretty quickly in the second chapter but I'm not going to give it away so you'll have to read it yourself to get that story.  The first chapter just knocked me out too... wow. The ways God can speak to us in our day to day.

I really like Max's writing style. It's warm, easy to read, and he comes across as a likable, genuine guy.  Through this book Max shares some pretty amazing stories - some his own, some the stories of others but pretty much all of them grip your heart in some way.  I love this book. I love the realness of God coming through this book.  This is one of those books that I wish every one could read to just get that fresh touch//taste of God for who He really is. All religion, legalism aside, who God really is and what He does through lives.  As that is where it is at and we need to hear these stories, to hear the testimonies of others who have been through things and come out triumphant, to be encouraged.

This book left me feeling very uplifted, encouraged and inspired.  He quotes greats such as Corrie Ten Boom, Bill Hybels,  Anne Graham Lotz, Ravi Zacharias and more.  I just can't say enough good about it. I love it and highly recommend it.  A beautiful book that will change your life in some way.
