Review of 'Reclaiming The Lost Art Of Biblical Meditation' by Robert J. Morgan

While the cover is nice, to be honest it doesn't draw me in as much as I would like as the content of this book is FANTASTIC!  It was almost like rivers of peace flooding my soul to read it, as everything in it just resonated with me so much.

Robert discusses why Biblical meditation is important. How new age meditation is not Biblical meditation and Biblical meditation actually came first and was God's plan! That we don't need to fear it.  He goes through with several teachings about how Biblical meditation helps you:

* see yourself as God sees you
* Calms your spirit and helps you find peace
* helps you understand God's word
* gives you insight into God's will

Following that he gives techniques to help you be effective in your meditation.  He also discusses memorization and it's importance. At the end is a ten day meditation guide and scriptures to meditate on.

I'm excited to find this book as this is something I need reminding on.  When I do it, I love it but it's something I really need to prioritize in my life amidst the rush and flurry.  Sometimes it's hard to pull away when your mind is buzzing, but it is so vital.

Robert also provides a free downloadable group study guide for the book and free personal audio meditation guides on his website.

"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."  James 4:8

"If we harness the power of our imagination, we can accomplish remarkable things." p105

"Biblical meditation helps my mind find its groove again, and it provides the soundtrack for my life - songs of praise and melodies of joy based in Jesus" p58

He also provides quick tips throughout, which are really practical.

This is really an amazing resource and a much needed reminder to slow down and focus on God, in our fast paced society.  I highly recommend this book, for me this is one I know I will keep coming back to.

Please note that I was sent a copy of this book for purposes of review, however the opinions expressed are entirely my own.
