Review of 'How To Set A Table' by Chloe Lieski and Clarkson Potter Publishers

This is a well presented little book, with a linen like cover, it just looks so classy and creates real high expectation of the contents!  Full of full color illustrations and photographs, this book is a great addition to the host/hostess collection to gain ideas for different forms of presentation for different forms of entertainment or types of meals.  While it is by no means exhaustive, it is a quick reference providing some basic tips and information.  If you are wanting something with more depth I would recommend 'The Butler Speaks' which goes into depth about etiquette and measurements for table settings to a great degree.  This book touches on measurements but not to the same degree.  The photographs are beautiful and really inspiring as to how your table CAN look.

I like how it covers many different situations - different types of picnics, breakfasts, suppers, formal dinners, festivities, movie nights, making guests feel at home.  However each of these pages is one small page each of a few paragraphs each - this is just very basic and quick information.

Personally I wish it had more information than it does. It really just touches on things. Maybe I expected more because of other books, I have read, as mentioned above, that have.  However it does have it's place, as a quick pick up reference.

Please note that I was sent a copy of this book for purposes of review, however all opinions are entirely my own.
