Review of 'Picturing Heaven: 40 hope-filled devotions with coloring pages' by Randy Alcorn. Illustrator: Lizzie Preston

This would be a great gift for someone who loves to color.  Being both a devotional and a coloring book - each picture to color is based around the devotion of the day, this one is aimed at adults.  The devotions are short, around a paragraph each, and are based around a scripture on the theme of heaven (as the Title suggests).  You can meditate on the devotion as you color the picture beside it, a great way to let your mind really wander on heaven.

The illustrations, by Lizzie Preston, provide a lot of detail to get some real therapeutic coloring done! The cover design is partially colored with gold details for some of it - which looks really effective too.  Some of the pages are on a black background, so bright colors are going to look really good against that backdrop.

I have to say, this isn't an overly deep book on heaven, so it would be suitable for people who have not heard much teaching on heaven before.  Randy's tone is likeable and relatable throughout and definitely inspirational.

For all those avid colorists in your life this is a must buy!  Would make a great gift for sure.  I recommend this.
