Review of 'Raising Men Not Boys' by Mike Fabarez

Great topic for this day and age, and this book is loaded with great, Biblical teaching and ideas.  Mike doesn't beat around the bush at all and gets straight to the point of raising our sons in a Biblical way that honors God.  He addresses the new cultural norms regarding gender and other similar issues and urges parents to hold fast to Biblical values in training their boys to be Men of God.

As a mother of a son, I found this book
encouraging and supportive.  I appreciated the ideas of how to develop him further and prepare him for manhood - which as he states is a parents role in raising children.  He reminds us as parents to keep our eyes on this goal which is, to prepare our children to be followers after God who can live Godly, righteous lives and lead a household and so on.  He focuses a lot of the importance of marriage and preparing our sons for marriage by mentioning that one day when they are married... or modeling for them how we cherish our spouses etc.  He speaks of having sons in church so they have many Godly role models around them.

There is a lot more in this book - it is an easy read and full of real quality information for parents.  I would definitely recommend this book!
