Review of 'The Spirit Of God Illustrated Bible' By Doris Wynbeek Rikkers. Illustrated by Fernando Juarez

This Bible is a really beautiful one!  With its hard cover, and the sweet illustrations by Fernando, this is a must have for all children's regular reading repertoire.  I love how it covers so much of the Bible - the cover stating over 40 stories of God's power and presence.

I will include below a photo of the Contents page, so you can see all that is included there.  The Old Testament has a cover spread of it's own, then we go straight into the Creation story titled 'God's Spirit and Creation'.  Everything follows scripture, elaborating in times mostly in descriptive words.  It also tells exactly which part of scripture it is based on underneath the titles.  Each chapter averages around 3 page spreads.

Near the end, there is a letter from Paul that has been simplified for younger readers. It urges them to do good and follow Jesus mentioning the fruit of the spirit.  The final section is titled 'The Spirit Today' and it relates things to the child's world, with an illustration of a child asleep in their bed with the spirit like a mist gently wrapping around them.  It reminds children that God is with them.
